How to use (quick guide)
- Fill trays/modules loosely, then tap to settle (don’t compact heavily).
- Sow seed and cover lightly as directed (many seeds prefer a very thin covering).
- Water gently (a fine rose or mist) to avoid displacing seed.
- Keep evenly moist and warm until germination.
- After 3–4 weeks, pot on or begin a gentle feed if needed (depending on plant type).
FAQs
Why “low nutrient” for seeds?
Seedlings need support for roots first. A gentle nutrient level helps build strong roots without scorching or forcing soft, leggy top growth.
How long does the feed last?
The base feed is designed for the first 3–4 weeks. After that, pot on or begin light feeding depending on the plant.
Is this suitable for cuttings?
Yes — the fine texture and free-draining structure make it a great option for many cuttings that prefer a gentler medium.
What should I use after this stage?
Once established, move seedlings into a quality multi-purpose compost or an appropriate John Innes mix (No.1/2/3) depending on plant and pot size.

If you order 5 or more bags of compost we may deliver on a pallet deliver via TPN (The Pallet Network).

How We Deliver
**PLEASE NOTE** WE DO NOT DELIVER WITH A HIAB CRANE
Pallet deliveries are made on 18 tonne curtain sided lorries and off loaded via a tail lift and pallet trolly to the kerbside.
A smooth level surface such as tarmac or paving is required to offload onto, we can not deliver onto gravel or up a slope.
