Mushroom Compost

Spent Mushroom Compost - A blend of composted agricultural straw and animal manure with added lime that has been used to grow mushrooms. Once the farm has grown its crop of mushrooms with the compost it is then steam sterilised to ensure that the product is free from mushroom spores and weeds.

Mushroom compost is a quality, economical soil conditioner. It improves the structure of heavy clay soils improving drainage and adds humus, nutrients to thin sandy soils.

Mushroom compost is excellent on the vegetable garden (Brasicas do especially well).

• Mulching (as recommended by Monty Don - reduces weed growth, holds moisture and improves fertility)
