Composting Worms and Fishing Worms
Composting has been used by mankind for hundreds of years, the composting process breaks down plant and vegetable matter into natural fertilisers in a form which can be accessed by plants. The addition of worms to any composting heap will speed up the process and also improve the quality of the finished product. Worms help to break down slower composting materials such as vegetable skins etc. Worm composting also produces an additional product, worm casts, which are in themselves a great fertiliser and lawn feed.
Dendrobaena worms are the perfect composting worm consuming half their own body weight in food every day! We supply Dendrobaena worms in quantities from 250 grams to 2 kilogrammes.

Worm composting can be used to recycle most of your kitchen waste at home with the use of a specialist worm composter or wormery. Wormeries are a fun way to educate children in recycling and gardening at an early age, they are great fun and produce great compost, liquid plant feed and worm casts. Wormeries, once established, are self sufficient as the worms will continue to breed in the wormery, all you need to do is keep them fed with your kitchen waste.
